First Post

My plan is to use this blog to document my projects. I hope that anyone interested in what I'm doing will comment on the site in an effort to improve or add on to what I'm working on. I am a mechanical engineer with an interest in mechanisms, machining, electronics and cycling among other things.

One project that I am currently working on is a homebuilt laser cutter. Essentially it is an x-y gantry with a 40 W CO2 laser and optics to guide the beam. I have been documenting the laser build on at this site:

In the future I will keep all of my projects on this site, but the laser will remain on the buildlog.net site.
